First Choice Naturals specializes in developing and providing only the highest quality natural pet health supplements, feed programs, and nutritional information concerning your pet’s well being. Working in cooperation with the professionals at Blackwatch Nutritional Consulting, First Choice Naturals has created a line of health supplements aimed at treating and preventing many of the most common ailments affecting pets today, as well as promoting pet wellness.
The staff at First Choice Naturals had determined that taking orders by phone and email was no longer an efficient sales strategy. Their current website had some products listed, but did not have the capability to sell online. They needed to streamline the entire sales process, from initial order to fulfillment.
They also wanted an easier method of updating and publishing new information, such as feed programs, pet health articles, and new products, to the website. The current website was built in FrontPage and changing the website’s content was cumbersome.
Finally, First Choice Naturals wanted to reach new audiences by increasing their visibility on the Internet. They knew they had quality products that pet owners would want; they just weren’t sure how to reach them. Also, since they had been taking orders offline, the staff didn’t have an accurate way of measuring the website’s success in converting visitors into customers.
After talking with First Choice Naturals, we realized they needed a completely new web solution, one built around a content management system that could handle their growing business needs.
We started by creating a soft, organic web design that reflected First Choice Naturals’ line of products. We integrated the design with the nVantage Content Management System, which allowed easy in-context editing of existing content, as well as adding new articles and products.
The nVantage CMS also boasts a completely integrated E-commerce module, including an online shopping cart, sales reports, and fulfillment solutions. Processed orders were exported to her Stamps.com account complete with pre-populated shipping labels, making tracking and shipping orders a breeze.
In order to increase traffic to the website, we implemented a search engine optimization campaign. We started by performing keyword research to determine high volume search phrases in her niche industry and built the website architecture around relevant topics. We worked with First Choice Naturals, as well as Blackwatch Nutritional Consulting, to develop search-engine-friendly web content in the form of nutritional articles and feed programs, and ensured proper indexing in the major search engines. We continually monitor traffic reports, sales reports, and website rankings in order to maintain continued sales growth.
The staff at First Choice Naturals spends far less time “managing” their new website. Receiving and shipping new orders, adding new products, and changing content on the website can now be done in minutes, when it used to take hours.
Almost immediately, First Choice Naturals began enjoying a surge of traffic to the website, with monthly unique visitors growing over 300% in the first three months. Much of this growth is fueled by visitors finding the website through search engines, which more than doubles every single month.
With the new web solution in place, First Choice Naturals had no problem handling the increase in orders driven by the SEO campaign. Even from the initial launch, sales began improving, up 25% in the first two months and over 50% by 6 months.
By the end of 2007, online sales at FirstChoiceNaturals.com had grown by more than 100% from the previous year. In 2008, sales continued their upward trend, increasing by another 125%.
